I'm Dan. I live in Nottinghamshire and I build automation systems for UK small businesses.
Before any of this, I worked in trades. That background matters more than it sounds. I know what it's like to run a small business in the UK where every hour counts and the admin never stops growing alongside the workload.
I got into automation because I was drowning in manual tasks and needed a way out. Started building systems to fix my own problems. Got good at it. Started doing it for other businesses.
I also run No Jargon AI, a content and education site that helps UK small businesses understand AI tools without the jargon. The two businesses work together. Spark Automations is where the building happens.
How I Work
Audit First, Always
I won't suggest a solution before I understand the problem. The audit isn't a sales call. It's the first piece of work.
Scope in Writing
Everything agreed before anything starts. Scope creep is named and charged. That protects you and it protects me.
Honest About Limits
If something is outside what I do well, I'll say so. I'd rather lose the work than deliver something half-built.
Plain English
Documentation written for a real person. If your team can't use it without asking me a question, it's not done properly.
